Hi. I played around a bit more in Crystal. It allowed me to add the second table and renamed it by itself. I had asked this question before actually trying it. I expected to be told it was a duplicate table, but it worked out better than I expected. Sorry!
The commandtext was a good idea, but I haven't had much success with changing a datasource to include both commandtext and tables. It might be how I did it, or the version of CR I have. Whatever the reason the links don't work, I just avoid this method.
In my case, there were good reasons not to add a view to the table. If I only had my instance to be concerned about, no big deal. But the amount of work I had to do to add a view for this was a bit overwhelming. I took the easier path. It was a good idea, though.
