When we upgrade portal from 7.0 to 7.3 . To migrate the .par file components, SAP Provided the tool like par migration tool. So all the custom portal components and standard components like login.par masterhead.par components can be converted to ear using par migration tool and deploy in 7.3 or still we need to import those par files into NWDS7.3 and need to compile using the jdk1.6?
Like in my scenario, we have build new server and copied the existing SAP Portal 7.0 and upgraded to 7.3, now i need to migrate some of the Portal components like login.par and customer portal components from 7.0 to 7.3 .
so for that i have downloaded those components from 7.0 and using the migration tool 7.3 i have converted .ear file . So converted .ear files, can be deployed to SAP Portal 7.3 directly or do i need to import to nwds 7.3 and need to recompile using jdk1.6?
When we need to user par migration tool and when we need to import .par file into nwds and recompile with jdk1.6?
if we cannot use the par migration tool, what is the step by step process for importing .par file to nwds 7.3 and converting to .ear and deploy .ear to 7.3 portal.
