You can check this as follows:
1. Start T-cd: dbacockpit in web dynpro mode
2. System landscape -> system configuration -> databases -> click on the database name
3. switch to 'database <SID>'(on the right side of 'system landscape')
4. Configuration -> Data Collection Framework -> Template Definition
5. Lock Events -> change the configuration
When auto update is enabled, the configuration is checked once at night. If it finds any different configuration on the database side, this is corrected so that the configuration matches the DCF definition. If you disable the auto update, then this check will not automatically handle any changes to the DCF anymore but this could result in manual effort to patch the data collectors after SP implementation.
