Hi,
Recently we have upgraded our BI4.0 SP4(bask pack) enviornment to SP5(base pack). After upgrade we are observing peformance issues in all the migrated WEBI reports.
To summerize the performance impact:
1. All the migrated Webi reports refresh time(manual/Scheduled) is 2/3 times more than as in SP4. This is only happening from launcpad. Rich client is fine.
2. Any new report in SP5 is atleast twice slow as compared to SP4.
3. For a example a report was running in around 200-250 secs in SP4. The same report is taking around 500-700 secs in SP5. After analyzing more i found the database read time for the report is around 120-150 secs in both SP4 and SP5 but in SP5 the report is doing something for around 400-500 secs after reading the data.
4. I am working with SAP from last 3 weeks on the issue and finally they are able to replicate the issue. Here is the test result provided by a SAP engineer in their lab system. The test was on the efashion universe:
New SP4 report
356 Page
Refresh-----120 sec
Schedule---140 sec
New SP5 report
356 Page
Refresh------320 Sec
Schedule----346 Sec
I just wanted to check if anybody else in SP5 is facing similar issues and found some work around on this.
My enviornement:-
BOE version - BI 4.0 SP5(back pack)
Server - Windows server 2008
Application server- Tomcat6
CMS database- SQL server
Reporting database - SAP BW
